Please remember my family struggles with their own myriad of physical challenges and it make take a few days for me to respond.

The following are questions you need to answer before you story can be shared.

Do you have a photo(s) you would like to include?

If so please submit them with your story or have them ready when I contact you about scheduling your final story.

Would you like credit for your story or would you prefer to use an assumed name?

Real names are welcomed and encouraged but I realize some of you may prefer to remain anonymous in the cyber world.

Are you willing to have your story proofread and checked for spelling and grammatical errors?

If not, it may still be printed but we prefer to check it for basic errors and resend it to you for approval.

Will you be using links to other blogs or websites you found to be useful?

If so, that is fantastic but I will need you to submit the link in full so that I can pursue it and insure a direct link for the readers.

About your story:

Your story may be a just a short story discussing a one time event in your life, how you were diagnosed, how it changed your life or any event that might be helpful to others

OR

it can be a life story sharing your journey from beginning to now.

If your story is too long we may choose to break it into segments or edit small sections out.

Regardless of what we choose ALL stories, as well as posting dates, will be sent back to you for approval before posting.

Some things you might considering sharing in your story are:

Name (first only is fine)

Age of Diagnosis

Age of Surgeries, Injuries, Etc…

Symptoms

Fears

Age now

Family History

How you felt when receiving you diagnosis

How your diagnosis and the disease changed your life

How you friends and family have changed

Funny, touching stories or events

Things that help you

Ways you have found to adapt

Things that have hurt you

How you cope with people, family, children, everyday life, etc…

OR

Whatever is laid on your heart.

Please keep in mind this a family blog and some children read our posts.  We ask that all stories refrain  from inappropriate language and photos.

Thank you in advance for respecting this.

The Zippy Zebra was started to share life stories, adaptations and support for people who struggle with invisible or chronic illnesses as well as physical limitations and emotional, mental challenges.

I would encourage you to “like” our FB page, sign up for our email notifications or RSS feed so that you don’t miss notifications and encouraging stories from others.

Thank you for you consideration and we hope to hear your story soon.

(If you have a story to share about a lost loved one those are welcome as well.  I believe sharing is healing and almost always can help others in the struggles they may be having.)

Please feel free to email links to websites or blogs you feel would be beneficial to our readers. 🙂   We will check them out and add them to our reference page when possible. 🙂
