I realize that several of you may be in tight financial situations and can afford neither expensive or difficult renovations, so that’s why we decided to share a variety of inexpensive and simple ideas on how to make your laundry room work for you. Please keep in mind that we try to suggest things that will work for a variety of people and there is no way to actually meet the needs of each individual every single time but we still appreciate your feedback.
Lets start with the simple things.
I don’t know about you but laundry is one of the most difficult (and neverending) tasks I face everyday.
Just when I believe it’s caught up another load (or 4) “magically” appears.
After putting out a few feelers in some of our support group, using my own struggles and getting our readers suggestions as a base I believe I have developed a comprehensive list of adaptations, tools and shortcuts to help make each load a little easier.
Mondays & Fridays in the month of March and April will be devoted to sharing some of the tips and tricks we have discovered.
My plan is to address these as thoroughly as possible here on the blog over the next few months if you have any specifics you struggle with or suggestions to make any household tasks easier please leave a comment below.

That may be so but in my life with chronic back pain this one little trick has saved me tons of additional pain.
Maybe it will help you too.
How many times have you looked at your dishwasher as a adversary rather than a kitchen aid?
Me?
EVERYDAY!
Today I hope to share a few of the shortcuts I have found to make using the dishwasher easier.
Loading/Unloading wrecks havoc on my shoulders and lower back while washing dishes by hand is comparable to torture so I have found a few tricks I to make it more bearable. Read more »
Yep, that is you!
Whether you are a first time reader or veteran Zippy Zebra friend we want to hear from you.
As I was working on the kitchen posts a discussion began about on-line shopping and delivery services available.
As the discussion spread it was pointed out that availability varies by location.
While, I know that I will not be able list EVERY available service I want to be able to list the main ones. Read more »
Who would like to spend a little less time in the kitchen OR use the time you have in there just a little better?
As I have said before one of my biggest everyday struggles is the kitchen.
I love to cook, organize and clean but very often just a few movements in the kitchen can send my pain level skyrocketing and my productivity plummeting.
I have all shared some tips in our previous posts.
Here are just a few more I couldn’t live without. Read more »
I am certain we all have special “tools” we use in our kitchen to make cooking easier.
One of the most common questions I hear is “How can you….?”
This is the first in a short series of kitchen adaptations and tools I use to enable my time and energy to stretch just a little farther
1. Counter height bar stool
I do not use it every time I cook but it is extremely handy when my legs, ankles, hips or lower back will not let me stand. I use it when cooking, prepping, doing dishes, etc…
Why should you prep any food in advance when cooking is challenging enough?
Because doing the prepwork on a separate day removes a large portion of the stress and work on dinner night and can save time and money. Read more »
